Our social initiatives
"The world is changing and our company is changing with it. We have thought long and hard about where we see DINA's role in society and what concrete actions we can derive from this. This has resulted in some exciting projects with which we want to and can play our small part in solving the problems of our time and creating a better world in general."
Stefan Najib, General Company Circle Lead
Arche children's project
Inspired by the vision of our founder Dirar Najib, who saw children as the most valuable resource of our future, we decided to convert our Christmas gifts to clients into a donation to the Arche children's project.
At the Arche facilities, children in need receive a hot meal, homework help and meaningful leisure activities every day. At the locations in Stuttgart and Berlin-Friedrichshain, close to our own offices, we finance lunch or dinner for the children for two months.
In addition, our employees will be volunteering in the coming year. As DINA, we want to give the children a sense of belonging and perspective.
Our own bees
Bees are often only associated with honey, but they play a far more important role - they secure humanity's food supply.
Honey bees are responsible for over 80% of agricultural yields in plant and fruit cultivation. Global bee mortality is therefore a serious problem with dramatic consequences.
For this reason, DINA has hired several thousand new employees: our Bee-Rent bee colony. Through this sustainable project, we are actively contributing to species conservation.
News from our bees:
2022: small honey yield of 1.9 kg
2023: Harvest of 15.1 kg of honey
December 2023: Bee colony died, presumably due to the late death of the queen
May 2024: A new bee colony moves in
2024: Harvest of 4 kg of honey
Dirar Najib Excellence Center in Jordan
Comprehensive education and qualified training are the basis for a successful life - this conviction shaped the life of Dirar Najib, the founder of DINA. In the 1960s, he moved from his home town of Malka in Jordan to Germany to study.
In many rural regions of Jordan, as in Malka, education is not a matter of course. There is still no public kindergarten there, only a kindergarten bus to neighboring villages.
In 2014, the idea was therefore born to establish an educational facility in Malka that would offer the local children a qualified education. Supported by the Malka Development Voluntary Society and long-standing friends, construction began in 2016. The Excellence Center was officially opened in autumn 2018.
The Excellence Center, with state-of-the-art equipment, now offers space for 70 kindergarten children and 90 primary school pupils. In addition, the Excellence and Innovation Training Center will help young adults to develop their professional skills and improve their chances on the job market.
